How an online hormone therapy visit works, step by step

Maybe you’ve been thinking about hormone therapy for a while, but the idea of getting it online feels unfamiliar. Who will you talk to? How do labs work? How do you get a prescription without walking into an office? Here’s exactly what to expect, from booking to your first refill.

Step 1: Check that we serve your state

Because providers are licensed state by state, you need to be located in a state we serve at the time of your visit. Invidia currently cares for patients in Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Step 2: Choose your visit and book

You can book a single visit or join the membership. A first visit is a 60-minute initial consult ($249). If you’d like ongoing care, the membership ($149/month) includes up to two visits a month, messaging with your provider and medication management. Medication and lab costs are separate. See all options on Membership & Pricing.

You pay securely online, then pick a time that works for you on the scheduling page.

Step 3: Your video visit

Your visit happens by secure video from home, work or wherever you have privacy — no waiting room. You’ll meet with Sarah Murray, FNP-C, the same provider every time. Expect to talk about:

  • What you’re feeling and how long it’s been going on
  • Your health history, medications and family history
  • Your goals — better sleep, fewer hot flashes, more energy, libido, mood

There’s time to ask questions. Nothing is too small or too awkward to bring up.

Step 4: Lab work near you

Most hormone plans start with blood work. You’ll get a lab order to take to a lab near you. When results are in, Sarah reviews them with you and explains what they mean in plain language.

Step 5: Your personalized plan

Based on your symptoms, history and labs, you’ll get a plan made for you. That might include hormone therapy (for women: estrogen, progesterone and related options; for men: testosterone therapy), other prescriptions, lifestyle changes, or a mix. If hormone therapy isn’t the right fit, Sarah will explain why and what else can help.

Step 6: Prescriptions sent to your pharmacy

Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy you choose. You can also shop professional-grade supplements through Invidia’s Shop & Save store if they’re part of your plan.

Step 7: Follow-up and adjustments

Hormone care isn’t one-and-done. Follow-up visits check how you’re feeling, repeat labs when needed, and adjust doses so you get the benefit safely. Members can message Sarah between visits through the patient portal.

Is online hormone care as good as in-person?

For most hormone concerns, the most important parts of care — a careful conversation, the right labs and consistent follow-up — work very well by video. If you ever need an in-person exam, Sarah will tell you and help you find the right next step.
